2016 State of the Nation

I want to preface this post with the following. I am not a political pundit by any stretch of the imagination. However I felt the urge to write about politics in this context which I like to call my State of the Nation address. I will be telling you why I believe Donald Trump should […]

Words to Live by When Choosing a Reputable Phoenix Moving Company

When it comes time to move in the Valley Of The Sun there are plenty of Phoenix moving companies from which to choose. That is a good thing; however you are then faced with the task of finding out who you will hire to do the task. There are a lot of factors that go into making sure you choose the right Phoenix moving company and that you are getting the most for your money. We will go into what to look for in when making this very important decision.

First of all let’s address the issue of moving…period. It is a major pain; there is no other way to describe it. Now, some folks choose to go it alone while others elect to let someone else handle it all. That being said, if you decide to hire a Phoenix moving company here is what you need to know. Start by talking to others you know who have hired a moving company here and find out what their particular experience was like. Whether they were good or not, get their honest opinion. Ask about the strengths and weaknesses of the moving company they used.

When checking out various movers in Phoenix you want to make sure that they have a good reputation and record of reliability. You also want to make sure you research as many Phoenix moving companies as time permits. Compare their rates, guarantees and see if they’re licensed, bonded and insured. In addition to the aforementioned, check with city and state agencies to see if there have been any complaints brought against the moving companies on your list.
If the movers you are considering have websites, by all means check them. See if they have testimonials and also do an online review of the company. Most reputable Phoenix moving companies will have a website along with a physical address and a phone number that is answered by a live person during normal business hours. Another thing is to make sure they are as full-service as possible and can handle your every moving need.

Also, when screening Phoenix movers, make sure they send someone out to actually see what is being moved so you they can give you a clear estimate. If any companies will not do this, by all means scratch them off your list. And remember, cheaper is not always better. We know everyone wants to cut corners money wise, especially in today’s economy. But when it comes to something this important value is not always measured in money.

That said, there are plenty of reliable Phoenix moving companies. It is on you to practice due diligence, check reviews on each prospect thoroughly and apply common sense. Doing so will lead you to the correct Phoenix mover for your needs.

Free Challenge Coin Artwork

Free challenge coin artwork seems to be all the rage these days. Customers want to see what their custom coin is going to look like before they order and custom challenge coin vendors gladly fulfill the prospective customer’s desire with hopes of attaining a new customer. Task Force 145 Military Challenge Coin

The prospective customer’s point of view is easy to see. What person, group or organization doesn’t like to get what they want, especially for free? I am a member of the, “I like free stuff majority” believe me. However I disagree with the free challenge coin artwork practice. I understand the logic behind it but disagree nonetheless.

The idea of giving something away in an effort to obtain business or customer information is not anything new. This practice is known as the law of reciprocation.  Non profit organizations have employed this strategy for years. The best example I can think of off the top of my head, is the free address labels I used to receive in the mail. You’re probably familiar with what I’m talking about. The address labels that were included along with some information about how you can make a donation as a thank you for the “free” address labels.

I believe that all challenge coin artwork is free. As a matter of fact, I know it is. I can’t think of a single custom coin manufacturer that charges for artwork. Artwork is part of the process of creating a custom coin order and you are NOT charged anything for the artwork itself. Another thing that irritates me about “free” challenge coin artwork is the companies that are supposedly giving away free artwork seem to charge their customers more in an effort to make up for the lost time and money that was invested in the free artwork that didn’t convert into a challenge coin order. Asking a graphic designer to invest their time into anything for free devalues the entire design industry. Would you tell a house painter to paint your house for free so you can see what it’s going to look like? Not likely. Then, why in the world would you ask a company to provide you a free rendering, proof, artwork or whatever you wish to call it without any form of a commitment or obligation? Such a request makes no sense. It’s good for the customer but sets a horrible precedent for the challenge coin industry as a whole. Prospective customers expect all custom coin companies to join in these reindeer games, which is a preposterous notion to say the least.

I will finish by saying that prospective challenge coin customers are still going to get their free challenge coin artwork from ten different companies, pick the least expensive option and custom coin vendors are still going to do free artwork without a commitment. All I have accomplished here is just another blog post.
